The 糖心Vlog District's "Green Team" worked with the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society and the New York State Marine Education Association for a beach cleanup at Sunken Meadow on Saturday, October 11.
More than 270 people came out, representing every school in the district, to help clean up the beach. The students and community members collected over 80 pounds of trash — mostly the small and easily ingested plastic pieces that are most dangerous for marine life.
